Terms of Service

These terms apply when you use the Bedtime Bee iOS app, website, story creator, and related services. Bedtime Bee is operated by Storybee Ltd. You must be old enough to enter into these terms or be a parent or guardian using Bedtime Bee with a child.

Using Bedtime Bee

Bedtime Bee lets you create original personalised stories inspired by toy photos, names, story ideas, and preferences. You are responsible for the information you provide and for supervising children's use of the app.

Accounts

The iOS app may use Sign in with Apple. The website uses password-free email links. You are responsible for providing accurate information, keeping access to your email account and devices secure, and telling us if you believe your account has been misused.

Website accounts and story packs are currently separate from iOS accounts, App Store purchases, subscriptions, and in-app purchases.

Acceptable use

Do not upload images or prompts that are illegal, harmful, abusive, invasive of privacy, sexually explicit, discriminatory, or that you do not have permission to use. Do not request stories based on characters, brands, logos, franchises, settings, catchphrases, or other protected material unless you have the rights to do so. Do not try to bypass security, scrape the service, overload our systems, or misuse generated content.

Stories and AI output

Bedtime Bee uses automated systems and third-party providers to generate text, images, and narration. Outputs may be inaccurate, unexpected, or unsuitable despite safeguards. Please review stories before sharing them with a child.

Advertising

Free access may include third-party contextual ads configured for general audiences and child-directed treatment. Ads should not use toy photos, story prompts, or generated stories for personalised targeting. Please report inappropriate or age-inappropriate ads to [email protected].

Your content

You keep any rights you have in photos, names, prompts, and other material you provide. You give Bedtime Bee permission to process, store, transmit, and adapt that material as needed to create stories, provide the service, improve reliability, and keep the service safe.

Copyrights, trademarks, and brands

Bedtime Bee creates original family stories inspired by toy photos. Bedtime Bee is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by toy companies, entertainment studios, publishers, or brand owners unless we say so clearly. We may block, rewrite, remove, disable sharing for, or refuse to generate content that appears to copy or misuse someone else's copyright, trademark, character, logo, trade dress, or other rights.

Generated stories

Generated stories are for personal and family use. Do not sell, redistribute, publish, or use them commercially unless we separately agree in writing and you have any rights needed for the material you provided.

Rights reports

If you believe Bedtime Bee content infringes your copyright, trademark, or other rights, email [email protected] with enough detail for us to identify the content, understand your rights, and contact you. We may remove or restrict content while we review a report.

Purchases made in the iOS app

Purchases made within the iOS app, including subscriptions and extra-credit purchases, are handled by Apple. Apple’s payment, renewal, cancellation, and refund terms apply to those purchases.

Website story packs

Storybee Ltd offers a one-time website purchase of a pack containing three personalised stories for a total price of £0.99. This is not a subscription and no additional tax or fee is added by Storybee Ltd at payment. Payment is processed securely by Stripe.

Each completed story normally uses one of the three stories in the pack. Unused stories never expire while your account remains active. Story packs are non-transferable, have no cash value, and can be used only through the Bedtime Bee website. They cannot be converted into iOS purchases, subscriptions, or App Store entitlements.

Immediate supply and cancellation

Before paying, you will be asked to agree to these terms, request that we make the digital service and story pack available immediately, and acknowledge that your statutory right to cancel may be lost once you use the pack to create a story.

This does not limit your statutory rights where digital content or a service is faulty, not as described, or not supplied with reasonable care and skill.

Refunds and failed stories

You may request a full refund within 14 days of purchase if you have not created a story from the pack. To request a refund, email [email protected] with the email address used for the purchase.

If a story cannot be completed because of an eligible technical failure on our side, you can try again without reducing the number of stories remaining. This may not apply where we refuse or stop a request because it violates these terms, fails safety checks, contains invalid information, or cannot lawfully be processed. This does not affect your statutory rights.

If Stripe reports a refund, dispute, reversal, or chargeback, we may remove any unused stories remaining from that purchase.

Purchase confirmation

After a successful web purchase, we will send a confirmation to the email address associated with your account. The confirmation will include the item purchased, price, transaction reference, cancellation acknowledgement, and links to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Stripe may send a separate payment receipt.

Limited physical-book beta

A “story” is the digital Bedtime Bee experience. A “physical book” is a separate personalised printed product. If we invite you to the limited beta, it is available only for delivery to a supported UK address, for the one offered book specification, one copy per order, and the offered tracked delivery method. Availability and order limits are controlled by Bedtime Bee and may be paused immediately.

You must review and manually approve the complete physical-book preview before ordering. The displayed price and delivery option are confirmed by Bedtime Bee’s systems, payment must be verified by Stripe, and changes to the book or delivery details may require a new preview, approval or quote. Please check names, title, dedication, page order, images and delivery details carefully.

The beta will remain unavailable until provider-policy, legal, privacy, retention and physical-sample reviews are completed for the exact product and configuration. A test or sandbox result is not a promise that the physical-book service is available.

Physical-book delivery, cancellation and remedies

Delivery and tracking estimates are estimates rather than guaranteed dates. We will show friendly order updates and an account-scoped order number. Please contact support promptly if a delivery address needs correction or you want to cancel. Because each physical book is personalised and made to order, cancellation may be possible only during the short period before the printer starts fulfilment; the authoritative order status determines whether we can stop it.

If the book is damaged, incorrectly printed, not delivered, or otherwise faulty, use “Need help” on the order or email [email protected] with your public order number. We will review the authoritative order and delivery information and, where appropriate, arrange cancellation, refund, replacement or reprint. Reprints use the same approved book and require a support approval.

Nothing in this section limits statutory rights that cannot lawfully be excluded, including rights relating to faulty, misdescribed or undelivered goods. The cancellation and refund wording for the beta will receive final legal review before orders are enabled.

Availability

We work to keep Bedtime Bee available, but the service may be interrupted for maintenance, outages, provider issues, safety controls, or changes to the app. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features.

Deleting content

You can delete saved stories from your library. Deleting a story removes it from your online library where supported, and removing offline copies clears local iPad storage only.

Limits of liability

Bedtime Bee is provided for creative family storytelling and early literacy support. It is not a childcare service, school replacement, formal tutoring service, medical service, legal service, or safety service. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for indirect losses, lost data, or issues outside our reasonable control.
